A0 

A0 Complete Beginner Course

This course is designed for students who are completely new to French. This course will help you build up a solid foundation, which will allow you to express yourself in basic and common situations. Students will learn basic verbs and grammar skills, develop their vocabulary, write short passages and communicate in daily life situations. 

At the end of this course, you will know how to: 

  • Introduce yourself and someone else

  • Express likes and dislikes

  • Ask and answer simple questions 

  • Understand simple French 

  • Describe places or people you know 

  • Write a postcard 

  • Speak in present tense 

A1 Beginner Course

This beginner course is designed for students with some experience in French and want to brush up their

French. Students will develop new vocabulary, improve their listening and speaking skills, and polish their grammar. Students will also have the opportunity to explore francophone culture through a variety of mediums such as authentic articles, stories and realistic dialogues.

A1 

At the end of this course, you will know how to: 

  • Understand frequent expressions and vocabulary 

  • Talk about your hobby, routine, family, and work 

  • Communicate in basic conversations 

  • Exchange ideas and information on familiar topics

  • Tell a simple story, describe an experience or event  

  • Understand short and simple texts, advertisements, emails

  • Give and collect information (address, phone number)

  • Give and ask for advice 

  • Make purchases and order food 

  • Describe someone

  • Invite someone, accept and refuse an invitation 

  • Express yourself in present, future and past tense

  • Tell about an event, activity or experience

B1 Intermediate / B2 Upper Intermediate Courses

These courses are designed for students who wish to attain a greater degree of fluency. Students will learn a wide range of vocabulary, advanced grammar and build more complex sentences which will allow them to engage themselves in conversations with current affair topics. Students will engage themselves in in-depth discussions on current issues and topics of their interest to explain viewpoints, defend opinions and negotiate. 

B1/B2 

At the end of this course, you will know how to: 

  • Be more independent in a variety of situations 

  • Understand TV and radio programs 

  • Understand most contemporary literary text 

  • Explain your point of view on current issues such as environment, worldwide challenges, inventions, new technologies, and much more

  • Express and defend your opinion by giving relevant explanation

  • Write official letters

*B1 and B2 are separate courses.

A2 Upper Beginner Course

This level is for students who have completed the beginner level in French and want to further take their French to the next intermediate level. Students will develop new vocabulary, improve their listening and speaking skills, and polish their grammar. Students will also have the opportunity to explore francophone culture through a variety of mediums such as authentic articles, stories and realistic dialogues.

A2 

At the end of this course, you will know how to: 

  • Understand frequent expressions and vocabulary 

  • Talk about yourself, your studies, your work, your neighbourhood, your eating habit, and past vacations and past vacations

  • Talk about movies, music, holidays and traditions in France

  • Communicate in basic conversations 

  • Exchange ideas and information on familiar topics

  • Tell a simple story, describe an experience or event  

  • Understand short and simple texts, advertisements, emails

  • Give and ask for advice 

  • Express yourself in the past tense using passé composé and imparfait

TEF Preparation Course 

What is TEF? 
TEF Stands for Test d'Evaluation de Français and allows to access your French language skills to enter a university,
or work in a Canadian company, or immigration. In this exam, you will need to prove your French skills in Listening, 
Reading, Speaking and Writing.

About the class

This TEF preparation course is targeted exclusively at candidates who want to obtain a B2 level in the exam to claim extra 50 CRS points in the Canada Express Entry. It is an intensive Examination Preparation course that equips students with the needed exam skills to attempt the Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing aspects of the examination. The course consists of a mix of lectures and exercises on answering sample TEF questions. Students will learn valuable techniques for eliminating wrong answers and choosing the correct ones. Each question is discussed in-depth with a step-by-step analysis of the thought process required to arrive at the correct answers to all question. 

Learning outcomes 

By completing this class, students should be able to:

  • Meet the TEF assessment and exam objectives

  • Attempt TEF past questions confidently, correctly and excellently

  • Achieve an overall score of B2 and above

  • Get 50 extra points for Canada immigration

  • Understand tips, tricks and techniques to pass the TEF exam

*You need to have at least A2 level in French to follow this course.

Conversation Courses (A2/B1 and B1/B2 levels)

Do you want to learn real spoken French from a native? Do you want to increase your fluency in French?

Then, this course will be perfect for you! This course allows the students to practice their oral skills at a level

with which they are comfortable and to gain more fluency and confidence in using the language in a wide variety of situations. Students will have the opportunity to actively practice and develop oral communication through a variety of activities, such as discussions, role-plays, mini-presentations, etc. Every lesson also has cultural tips, which will make you more comfortable in a foreign setting. You'll be surprised how easy it can be to speak another language!

At the end of this course, you will know how to: 

  • Communicate in real-life situations and current affair issues

  • Develop automatism and fluency 

  • Learn practical, common phrases and expressions to sound more natural 

  • Use correct grammatical sentence structures

  • Perfect your pronunciation

Pronunciation Workshop

Taking part in these pronunciation workshops at our French school will help you gain confidence in communicating in French in all types of situations. Think of how happy you will feel making yourself understood when you ask your way in the street, order a coffee, or even when you go into a shop to buy clothes!

During this course, we will focus on:

  • Mastering your French pronunciation

  • Learning how to differentiate and pronounce French sounds
